First Visit

Please be advised that the parent or legal guardian MUST be present at the initial visit.

Dr. Stephanie and Dr. Krissy have established their practice together. This means our patients have the wonderful benefit of two doctors with similar training and treatment philosophies, in addition to being long-time friends. Our entire team would like to get to know you and your child, and it is especially important that a positive relationship is established with both doctors. You may accompany your child to the treatment area during this first visit, as we feel it is important for the parents to tour our treatment area and see our team in action. In addition, it is important for you to have the opportunity to meet the doctors and discuss your child’s dental health directly with the doctor and team members.

At your child’s first visit, the first available doctor will perform a head and neck examination, evaluate the health of the teeth, gums, and your child’s bite. Dental radiographs will only be taken as the doctors feel they are necessary. To prepare your child for this visit, you can explain to your child that the doctors and a team member will “count”, “brush”, and “take pictures” of his/her teeth. Please do not tell your child that “the dentist will not hurt” as this may have never entered your child’s mind. You can also tell them that seeing the dentist for the first time is a sign that they are growing up and will be an exciting experience for yourself and your child. Please avoid the use of any negative terms, such as “shot”, “needle”, “pull”, “drill” or any other word that may express unpleasantness. We have a special way of explaining what will be done in terms that are best suited for children. Expect your child to do well and he/she will likely do exactly that!

Payment is due at each visit for services rendered. We accept cash, Debit Cards, VISA, MasterCard and Discover. We no longer accept personal checks. For our patients with dental insurance, we are happy to submit your claims and file to most dental insurance companies; however, we are out of network with all insurance companies. Please be familiar with your insurance benefits so that you may receive the maximum benefit. We ask that you pay for the non-covered portion at the time of service.

Again, we thank you for the opportunity to treat your child. Please call our office with any questions if needed!

Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie, Dr. Krissy & Team

We strive to make each and every visit to our office a fun one!
